This project turned an ordinary basement family room into an inviting room perfect for a social gathering or just some plain old family time. We helped turned the client's vision into a reality, including a stunning bar and an eye-catching corner fireplace to take the chill out of the air on those cold winter nights in Iowa.
This Mount Vernon family wanted to make better use of their basement family room. It was previously seldom used, but they had a vision of converting it into a room that they could host social gatherings, as well as provide a cozy atmosphere for quality family time.
As we met to discuss the project, they had an idea of what they wanted, but they weren’t quite sure if they had adequate space. In speaking with them following the project, they said it actually feels like the room is more spacious.
This basement renovation included two primary additions. The first was to create a unique and eye-catching bar area, and the second was to build a corner fireplace to not only take the chill out of the air, but also to be a focal point in the room.
We incorporated stone in the corner fireplace, as well as the bar back splash and column. It really helps tie the entire room together.
“My wife and I are beyond pleased with the end result. It’s exactly what we pictured in our minds. Aaron and his entire crew were great to work with from the beginning to the end.” – Chad
